Udupi Sambar Masala

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1- Boil or pressure cook 150g Yellow split Pigeon Peas/ Toor Dal for 30 mins with 1 large chopped onion, 2 chopped tomatoes and other vegetables of your choice.

Step 2- Add 2½ tbsp of Tamarind Juice along with 1½ tbsp of The Flavour Trail’s Udupi Sambar Masala.

 Step 3- For the tadka, heat 2 tbsp of oil and add ½ tbsp mustard seeds, ¼ tbsp cumin seeds, 10 to 15 curry leaves, 2 whole red chillies and a pinch of asafoetida.

Step 4- Add these to the cooked dal and boil it for 2 mins. Serve this hot with Dosa/Idlis/Appams or rice for authentic flavour.
